From the Pastor:
Welcome to our website and also welcome to worship with us! Zion
Lutheran has over 80 years of history of proclaiming the good news of
God’s grace in Christ Jesus to the people living in the Soo area.
We are a member congregation of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church
in Canada
(ELCiC), which has chosen for its current theme the words “ In Mission for Others”.
We at Zion feel
strongly that this is what we as a Christian church are called to be.
Our Mission Statement indicates that: “Our congregation
shall proclaim the Gospel of Christ through celebration and sacrifice. It shall
be committed through this proclamation to a ministry of Evangelism to all
people emphasizing a program of teaching and witness”. We have a number of
programs currently going on in our church to make this happen.
We also welcome visitors to attend our Sunday worship
services. All visitors will receive a “Welcome bag” which
contains some helpful
materials dealing with questions of life and faith and also more info
about the activities and events that are taking place at Zion.
Life in today’s world is very hectic and full of
uncertainties. Despite all new technologies people are more and more lonely and
struggling with all kinds of life issues. We believe that the gospel of Christ
gives still a good foundation to our lives. Therefore we want to share it
openly with all who seek answers to their questions.
